The mission of the ACDA is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.

Where to start?

In most community choir in Norway there is a lack of elementary theory skills amongst the members. A lot (most) of the members have no education in music - not even elementary knowledge about how musical elements are structured - they just want to sing in the community choir. The way of developing seems to be some kind of "learning by doing" or "performing by faking".  Please comment my experiences, and do recommend some literature, method and/or warm-ups in order to help youngsters (or older adults) into the real world of choral singing/performance through developing elementary theory skills.
