How easy? I program Ogura's Hotaru Koi all the time for my first year choirs, as its easy but still legit. Also And Nature Smiled, by Koepke.

Hi Amanda,
My colleague  and I was in the same position some years ago so we wrote two books to cover our needs. Yes, many of the pieces are in Swedish but a great deal
of them are in English - have a look!
Press "Innehåll" to see the contens and I can send you perusals if you find anything interesting.

Hi Amanda,
My SongLibrary website has a free song to download that is SSA. Most of the song is in 2 parts, with a 3rd part in the final section.
The song is called Rainbows and Canyons and is about the many wonders and uses of water. It also introduces children to the word 'water' in many different languages.
I hope you find it useful.
All the best

Dear Amanda, I have written 14 Tolkien Songs for Children’s Voices, a number of which meet the SSA criterion. 8 of the songs are free to print out as vocal scores (voice parts with piano accompaniment), and 10 of them are available with orchestral accompaniments, also free to print.
Details can be found by clicking on the relevant headings under ‘Score Catalogue’ on my Scoreexchange profile page, here:
I hope some of these may be useful.
All the best, Charles
P.S. Videos of four of the orchestral versions can be seen on YouTube here:

Hi Amanda,
Please listen to "Let the Children Play" on my website here:
SSA with piano and optional flute(s).
You might also consider "Enchanted River," SA with S solo at the start, piano, optional violin.
Both are short.
Let me know off-thread if either is of interest.
Best regards,
David Avshalomov

Amanda I have used all of these for solo-ensemble, large group, as well as concerts.  They are all pretty, singable, "not intimidating" for young vocalists, and the girls loved each piece.  If you have time give a listen to these!    Do you ever let the kids choose?   I have done this with great success; I narrow the field down to four pieces that I think have educational merit and, then we listen as a choir and decide.
Here are my suggestions in no particular order......although IF I had to choose I'd say the last two are current favorites:
Linden Lea   by R. Vaughn Williams   (arr. Douglas Wagner)  Pub:  Hinshaw
Homeward Bound  by Marta Keen  (arr. Althouse)
Johnny Has Gone For a Soldier by Samuel Michael Hunter  (arr. Eugene Butler)   Pub: Heritage
**Bring Me My Shadow  by Mathew Erpelding  (Santa Barbara Music Press  #SBMP1242)
**Hope Is The Thing With Feathers by Susan LaBarr  (Santa Barbara Music Press  #SBMP 1071)

Take a look at the Wisconsin Solo/Ensemble list, class C or B. JW Pepper should have the list on their site. Really good list!
