Something different for Palm Sunday?
Date: February 17, 2016
"Children's Hosannas" forms part of a short choral sequence for Palm Sunday, and is a new setting of the hymn "All glory, laud and honour". You can hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZCvcOYNGkQ&list=UUweU7iHTikXoHAy8tRoVNlw&index=8. The whole sequence of 3 hymns with linking narration can be accessed via the Swirly Music website - http://www.swirlymusic.org/music/choral-music/majestic-ride-a-choral-sequence-for-holy-week/, where you can also read through the whole score. However, if anyone would like a pdf of one of the hymns to try out, I'd be glad to send you one free of charge. (- in which case please reply to me direct, with your email address.) Accompaniment is for organ or piano, and the style is quite light and melodic.
David Bedenbaugh, Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church, Ocala, Fl, who performed the piece last year says: "I think the choir had more fun with this cantata than with any I have directed - I highly recommend it."
