Name this song?

I'm looking for the title of a  song I learned almost 35 years ago. All I can recall is this snippet: 'How can it be that you're born so humble, how can it be that you're born a King? How can it be that you're born so humble, how can it be I hear the angels sing? Sweet little baby, please explain it to me. Sweet little baby, I know what my reason tells me to think, but Lordy, Lordy, sweet Lord. I know what I see.' (I may have lyrics wrong.)

I'm pretty much out of touch with everyone I sang it with, and I've Bing'ed and Googled it to no end, with no luck. Thanx in advance!

I can't identify the song, but if you remember the melody, there are things on the internet that might help you identify it -- web sites where you can input the melody in various ways.  One list of them is here.

Thanx for the help, but no matches were found. I know I didn't come up with this song on my own. Wonder if I could try a copyright search using the lyrics?

You can also try musicanet.org with the text incipit,
or the
App "Choral Notes" in which you can either type in the melody on a virtual keyboard, or sing it.

Someone named Lori Wood was searching for this exact song. Perhaps you can contact her via Facebook and see if she had any luck? https://www.facebook.com/MoodyRadioFlorida/posts/10152842756882142

I am probably way off here, but it reminds me of two of Natalie Sleeth's  pieces:  "Baby, What you Goin' to Be?" (early 80's , I think) and (less likely) "Were you there on this Christmas Night?" (probably mid-80's or early 90's)
Or, could it be a 2nd or 3rd verse (or someone's creative addition) to "Sweet Little Jesus Boy", or "Some Children See Him"?
You might get in touch with some experienced pastors. faith education professionals (DCE) and Sunday School teachers.  Sometimes little gems end up in a curriculum  that never make it to the Choral World.
Anyway, they are nice lyrics!
Best Wishes!
