Title: Voice Use Patterns of Working Mothers
Researchers: Mary Lynn Doherty (mdoherty(a)niu.edu), Northern Illinois University School of Music and Miriam Van Mersbergen (mvanmersbergen(a)niu.edu), Northern Illinois University School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders
Content: We are asking a series of questions related to voice use at work and at home, and hope to target working mothers who are in positions that require a large amount of talking (teaching, talking on the phone, public speaking, counseling, and other activities that require a clear and consistent voice). Our research seeks to augment the literature on professional voice users who are working mothers and will inform both participants and the educators and/or clinicians who may work with them. The survey is 46 questions and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
Participants: Part or full time working mothers for whom significant occupational voice use is required.
